Minutes before midnight on September 6, 2015, Rita Thara’s business dreams and high hopes were engulfed in flames that swept through Boise’s International Market . Thara’s Fashions and a dozen other businesses’ lost most everything.

Rita came to Boise three years ago bearing refugee status from the Democratic Republic of Congo. With a spirit that never gives in to disappointment, she says, ‘Now, I want to change my story’. Each day a new page appears waiting for the story written in her own words.

Not long after Rita and her mother Veronique arrived, they applied for a loan and opened a store in the market selling African fabrics, jewelry, designer dresses and purses. They became an integral part in the heart of their new American community excited to share with folks from Boise their African culture and the many other cultures represented at the International Market.

This is a person who truly deserves our encouragement through financial support by sending a donation that will help reestablish her business, Thara’s Fashions

once again. A follow up report will be given to all who participate with us.
