We are setting this up in support of our friend and coworker Jessica Anderson and her husband Jesse Anderson (33 years old). Jesse’s parents found out he had Cystic Fibrosis at six months old. Despite a lifetime of breathing treatments and struggles he has faced each new day with hope and triumph. Jesse and Jessica met in 2008 and together have endured all the hardships and limitations that come with living with CF. Jesse was blessed with a new set of lungs in November of 2011. After recovering from the transplant they continued to enjoy their lives together to the fullest. For the first time ever Jesse was able to actually breathe at his lungs’ full capacity. Shortly after his transplant Jesse proposed to Jessica and the wedding planning began. They were married in a beautiful service on June 7th, 2014 in front of friends and family.

Jesse has been experiencing shortness of breath the last few months and it has progressively gotten worse over the last few days. After weeks of tests and treatments they have pinpointed it to rejection called Bronchiolitis Obliterans. They met with his Doctors at the University of Iowa today (10.10.14). They are faced with the reality of knowing his first transplanted lungs are rejecting. They are now faced with the decision if he should stay and trust a hospital that he is comfortable with, or to trust a new hospital with more experience. The only issue is that hospital is unknown, and could be 1000 miles away.  There have only been 2 re-transplants at University of Iowa and there will most likely be a waiting period of 4-6 months. There are several other facilities around the country that are considerably more experienced with re-transplants and would have a much shorter waiting period. Jesse’s doctors are putting together a list of the facilities that are options.

Even though the when and where is currently unknown all of this will require Jesse and hopefully Jessica to move to the chosen city in order to be added to the donor list, go thru testing, the re-transplant and recovery. Our hope is that they can be together thru this process the way they were meant to be! Because of that we are reaching out to all of our friends and family and anyone else that is reading this to help raise as much financial support as we can. They will not only incur the medical bills that are not covered by insurance, but also moving expenses and living expenses both here and in their temporary location.

Any amount will help and all of the support is appreciated. Please share with your friends, families, coworkers, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

In addition to the financial support adding the Anderson’s to your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.
