I’m reaching out to ask for your help.

Our beautiful friend Lorraine is going through some financial hardship right now. She would never ask for help, and doesn’t know that I’m reaching out to you. This is not something that I will be sharing to the internet. I am just asking a few close friends. I don’t want her to feel embarrassed. I want her to feel supported by her friends and community.

I am not in the financial position to do this alone, but there is strength in numbers. If folks were able to pitch in their coffee money, it would all add up.

Our society tells us that, as adults, we’re supposed to have it all figured out. And we feel shame when we struggle. But life ebbs and flows. There are times of feast, and times of famine. And we can get through the tough times together, by relying on our community. We aren’t meant to go through it alone. And we certainly weren’t put on this earth to worry about paying rent.

If you are able, please consider contributing something you are comfortable with. There is no amount too small.

Anything that is collected will be given to her by Wednesday. This is a quick turnaround.
