<div>Hello, My name is Wayne King and I work For a non profit with adults with special abilities. I’m fundraising for myself for the very first time because I have Several medical health issues including Covid long syndrome. This infectious disease has taken a lot from me the past 3 years. Ive developed diabetes and a small hiccup in the 4th chamber of my heart of which I’m on medication for. It does help. I’ve had multiple cases and Many doctors visits during that time and have been part of a medical study at UT Houston. In the more recent months or the last 3 to be exact I’ve been on short term disability at home just taking time to allow my body to heal with no income. I’ve always worked and supported myself and my family with no issues. I’ve raised money for my non profit and for others in need but I’ve never done this for myself or even thought I’d find myself in this position to start with. My short term disability was denied by my insurance. I’m hoping to appeal but after the phone call with them it’s looking very unlikely that it will be approved. I’ve been home 3 months with no income due to that and I’m at the point where I need To swallow my pride and ask for help. There is nothing wrong with asking for help but I’ve always been very independent and anyone who knows me knows this to be true. Many of my friends have encouraged me to take this step and I was reluctant to do so but I have my family to think about and it’s not all about me. Im a giver. I always have been.
