FRIENDS is a non-profit organization that raises funds to provide emergency assistance to school children and their families in crisis until they can reach the appropriate agency for long term planning and assistance. FRIENDS is the only agency where school personnel can request and obtain immediate support for their students who cannot wait for longer term assistance! Your funds will be directly distributed to assist with fundamentals such as grocery gift cards, shoes, clothes, etc. for the students and families with identified needs.
FRIENDS has donated over $10,000 in 2020 due to the emerging needs of families during the pandemic. FSMH has had a considerable increase in requests for grants. Most have been for assistance for families struggling financially for food and basic needs. Parents and guardians have had a reduction in work hours, been laid off, and or have had to quit their jobs to care for their children during remote learning due to a lack of childcare. FRIENDS has been able to fulfill these grant requests because generous donations such as yours.
