Running the London Marathon (take two)

Tax deductible
Following last year's knee injury, which forced me to defer my entry, I am pleased to say I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 2 October in support of Friends of Mulanje Orphan (FOMO).

In 2006 I spent three weeks in Malawi with FOMO, experiencing first hand the charity's fantastic work, providing vital food security, health care and education to orphaned and vulnerable children in the Mulanje district of Malawi. Many friends were made during my stay - often connecting through a shared love of football - and I promised to continue to support the charity in whatever way I could. Which, is why, 16 years later I find myself preparing to run 26.2 miles!

FOMO now cares for over 2,500 children through a network of 14 centres across the district. The charity in the UK is run in the by a small board of dedicated, voluntary trustees - there are no UK paid staff so every penny goes to where it is needed most.

Any donation you can make will make a huge difference, providing urgently needed funds to maintain FOMO's commitment to feed and care for these children.

Thank you again to all those who already donated so generously last year, raising a fantastic £1,617!
