Friends of Bobby Joe

My friend is Bobby Joe Steward. He is a "special" friend who was in foster care until he was 18. We went all through school back in the day when special needs students were seperated and taught in a single classroom with a special curriculum. Most mornings in high school he would get up and walk to a local restaurant at 3:00 a.m and chop their onions and cabbage, walk back home to get ready for the bus to take him to school. He DID graduate in 1972 and worked various jobs including pecan picking where the cherry picker he was in collapsed and broke many bones in his body. He was in a full body cast for almost a year! He was commited to paying his medical bill which he did through numerous odd jobs and collecting cans. He doesn't drive so some days he will walk up to 20 miles a day collecting cans and carrying the full garbage bags to the recycling center where he gets cash. He once rode a bike from Hot Springs, Arkansas to Dallas, Texas to interview for a job at a Wal-Mart there. He got the job and packed up what little he had and rode the bus to Dallas where he lived for several years - I believe in a group home.
Shortly after he returned to Hot Springs his trailer and belongings burned to the ground. He bought an old, delapitated roach infested trailer where he has been since. I started an account for our classmates to make donations. We collected enough to but him a new refridgerator, new sink and commode, new microwave, new wood flooring for his living area and other incidentals. He gets his clothes and other items from "Helping Hands" in Bismarck. He has 40 packs of $.77 bologna in his freezer. He is a good man who just needs a break.  He really needs an alarm sysytem with monthly payments as he gets broken into all the time. He is on several medications and the theives always find and take them.
There is nothing of any value to take so just for kicks they ransack his trailer.
He also needs a new roof as his is leaking.  The money needed through this GoFunMe Money account is to provide help with his propane bill and other monthly expenses. A new bike, a new typewriter ( he writes "pomes" and songs mostly about religion and being saved - I do his typing and pay to have his books bound and sold at our class reunion.) Anyone that donates $100.00 or more will receive one of his books if requested, clothes and linens and food and supplies and toiletries, cleaning supplies, canning supplies, garden supplies and tools, roof supplies, wood laminate to finish the flooring and just daily living supplies help with bills and all. My husband and Bobby Joe can do the work. I can go on and on and on.
Bottom line is he is a sweet soul who just can't seem to get a break. But he is a happy man. He never lets his hardships get him down. He just takes on a few more odd jobs or lives with it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. My husband and I have spent quite a bit of money and we just can't help with the growing list of needs! Our classmates were more than generous with their monetary donations but we are all pretty much tapped out.
We have turned to GoFundMe as we don't know where else to turn.
I can promise you that every cent of your donations will be used exclusively for Bobby Joe! He does have dream and wishes and I believe most of them are to fix up his trailer and sleep a little better knowing he has propane in his tank. He ran out during the coldest days of December and my husband and I paid almost $400 to get it filled up. Thank you so much for any help you can provide! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Please consider being an angel to Bobby Joe by your donations to his account.
God bless you for your giving nature!!
