Over a year ago, our dear friend, Barbara Alman, was given news that most of us pray we will never hear; she has cancer. Colon / Rectal cancer, to be precise. This is even more devastating when you are on your own, working a very stressful job with long hours, and having full custody of a 5 year old (now 6) precious little grand daughter.
Unfortunately, the initial radiation recommended burnt her so severely that after a while, she developed a fistula. She spent 40 sessions in a hyperbolic chamber hoping that it would repair the fistula and allow her to continue on with her chemo treatments. The chemo had been exasperating the fistula, but is necessary to prevent the cancer from spreading. It has already spread to the auxiliary glands.
Barbara did some research and traveled to Moffit, Mayo, and others before getting herself admitted to the Cancer Treatment Center outside Atlanta. She was praying that the Dr.s there would have a better plan. After many visits and procedures, the outcome is that the fistula needs to be healed surgically in order to continue the chemo treatments, and as of right now, Barbara is not strong enough, nor has the tissue needed for surgery.
Barbara was just released from the hospital after her fourth bout with sepsis. She needs time, rest, and prayers to be able to continue this fight. Her faith in God has brought her through so much, but now she needs a lot more prayers and our financial help, as well. We are predicting that Barbara's savings will be depleted soon as she has had to cut her work schedule, presently taking time off, to gain back her strength.
Having said this, I'm now asking for your help. Barbara needs your prayers and any financial help you are able to provide at this time. If all you can do is offer up prayers, God Bless you. If you are blessed enough to help financially, our thanks and and blessings as well.
