People need libraries. A library empowers individuals with knowledge and skills to help improve their lives. This transformational power relies on the free exchange of ideas which is the foundation of a free society. Thus, it has been said that, “Great cities have great libraries.”

A library must grow with its community. It is not the digital revolution that will make the library insignificant – it is stagnation. Now is the time to take the next step to make Alabaster's library great. It is time to create a NEW MODERN LIBRARY that citizens can be proud of.

A critical component to the success of any library is its Friends. We are the library's fund raising entity as a 501(c)(3). We have and will continue to support the library in a multitude of ways. Currently, we are raising funds for a long standing dream of a new building.
