Friends Cummins Together

Joe and Krissy have been going through some hard times recently. It all started roughly a year and a half ago. Since then Joe has seen countless doctors, had multiple diagnoses, and tons of ups and downs. He has struggled with extreme nausea and weight loss as well as a host of other awful symptoms. After multiple stays in the hospital, a MRI was finally done and it was found that Joe had three tumors in his brain. To date, one has been removed and the other two have been biopsied and found to be malignant, but unfortunately inoperable. Brain cancer is something no one wants to hear. The remaining two tumors are called germinomas with components of a second tumor type also involved. We are told this is the most rare type of brain tumor, yet hopeful because the words treatable and curable are also being said. Joe’s oncologist has an agressive treatment consisting of 4 rounds of chemotherapy, each round lasting three weeks, beginning the first week of January. After twelve weeks, his medical team will evaluate his progress. Once Joe’s chemo is finished, he will start 5-6 weeks of radiation.

This is a very tough and scary time for both Joe and Krissy, and as you all know, this couldn't happen to a better couple. The road ahead will be a long one, but they do have a wonderful support group filled with friends and family standing behind them. Along with the emotional support you can all give, I'm sure they can use some additional help during this time. Being out of work so often has to be a struggle on its own.
