Samantha Schwoeble is a sister, aunt, daughter and friend who is fighting breast cancer. Aunt Sammi, as she’s known in our family, is from New Castle Pennsylvania and a graduate of Edinboro University. She is a wonderful artist who moved to Concord, North Carolina to teach art at an Elementary School. Aunt Sammi is an independent spirit but needs help to get through this difficult time.
Within the next year she will face chemotherapy, surgery and possibly radiation. In the upcoming year, family from Pennsylvania will travel to North Carolina to be with Sammi during the treatments. What has been a huge stress is the cost of the medical care. As a school teacher in North Carolina, Sammi’s income can’t support the cost of the treatment. We are only asking for donations that cover medical costs. Nothing else. The deductibles are around $1100 per year, with a max. out of pocket around $5000 after deductibles are met. Copays do not go towards deductibles. So, we are looking at roughly $10,000 by the end of treatment.
Who are we? I am Stephanie Hunter, the sister-in-law of Aunt Sammi. My husband is Eric Schwoeble, Sammi’s brother. Our children, who love their Aunt to pieces, are Alexander, Lauren and Maddie Schwoeble.
