My name is Maria Elena Santos and I am from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Me and my Puerto Rican friends at Providence College are raising funds for the Organization Unidos por Puerto Rico, an organization created by the first lady of Puerto Rico for Hurricane relief. As many of you might already know, Puerto Rico has been struck by not one, but two catastrophic Category 5 hurricanes in only two weeks.

Our Island is in desperate need of our help, for out of 3.5 million American citizens living in PR, many have been left without homes, businesses, and/or essential needs. There is no cellphone signal, no water service, nor electricity. Which means, that most of us living in the USA, and even people within the Island, can't even communicate with our families. That being said, we ask that in addition to PRaying for all Puerto Ricans, we all gather to provide financial aid to them.
The money we collect with this "gofundme" page will go directly to Unidos Por Puerto Rico, the organization will not only be buying essential needs like food, water, and medicines for the families that lost everything, but also providing financial aid to those who desperately need it.
Puerto Rico's 3.5 million American citizens need our help. Join us to help our favorite place in the world recover from this disaster.
