It is that time of year again for the FrontRunners to start raising money for our yearly activities! For those that are new since last year or are members that may not remember, every year, the leadership asks for donations to our organization to help keep us providing you, the members, with activities and goodies.
Last year, we hit our goal very quickly, so this year, our leadership team at our meeting set a high goal of $5000 to try to reach so that we can continue to provide you with new and more expanding opportunities. Every dollar will help us to grow and to be used for all of our members.
The money donated is used for events like marching in the Pride Parade, sponsoring the Gay 10K, providing water at our runs, putting together holiday parties for our members, purchasing wristbands for new and prospective members, and giving back to our members in times of need.
The goal this year is much higher because we would like to move forward with our mission of growth and structure and begin offering more back to our members in the forms of assistance with race registrations, potential sponsored dinners for our group, equipment and supplies, additional hosted socials to get to know other members, working with a charity organization to give back to our community, and potentially even set up a scholarship fund.
Our organization does not charge dues, unlike many other Houston running clubs or other FrontRunner clubs around the world. In lieu of dues, we ask our members to donate what they can to keep our organization growing and moving forward. We appreciated each of you and want to explore more opportunities to be able to show you that you are a valuable part of our organization.
Members that donate $75 or more will receive a guaranteed T-Shirt as part of their donation in this year's color when we order shirts at the beginning of April.
