Freya's rehabilitation fund
Donation protected
Our daughter, Freya Fitzpatrick O'Doherty, is like most 12-year-old girls, she loves animals, especially dogs (she has two). But unlike most 12-year-olds, Freya has been battling cancer after being diagnosed with a highly aggressive brain tumour in April of 2018. The tumour, a medulloblastoma, was removed successfully after a ten-hour operation and she has since undergone intensive radiotherapy and is currently receiving chemo in OLCHC, which is, again, an intensive regime. Freya is a talented soccer player and Gaelic footballer, playing for Larkview FC and Templeogue Synge Street, and has brought the determination and discipline she shows on the pitch to her current situation. Unfortunately, at the moment, she can't do what she loves most, which is to play sport. She is on the FAI's Emerging Talent Programme, plays for the Metropolitan Girls' League representative side (won the U12 Gaynor Cup) and was due to complete trials for the Dublin development squad in Gaelic Football before cancer struck. Playing sport is pivotal to Freya and she longs to get back on the pitch. To aid her in that quest, she will need rehabilitation outside the remit of her current care. We are hoping to raise funds in order to facilitate her treatment. https://mobile.twitter.com/FAIreland/status/1004808049922539520/video/1
