Fresh Yoga Teachers and Staff Covid-19 Relief Fund

FRESH YOGA has been supporting our cherished students in the New Haven area since 2002, and in these unprecedented times, we need to ask for support from you.
We are committed to keeping our community together, even though our brick and mortar is currently closed due to Covid-19. We were one of the first studios in CT to move our classes online during this critical time of social distancing and we are dedicated to our online offerings to help anyone who is suffering, especially now when they need us most.
Even during this uncertain time, we remain committed to our donations-based, sliding scale payment structure. Although we have launched our online classes, we have lost the ability to hold the larger events that supplement us in a way that allow us to maintain this truly community-based payment structure.
Unfortunately, we are required to cover our usual fixed expenses during our closure (administrative payroll, utilities, rent, platform support, MindBody Online, internet fees, etc.). At the same time, our revenues have declined by about 70%.
Because our workers are primarily independent contractors, SBA will not cover these fixed costs with their available programs. We were able to secure a small grant to cover the new recording fees incurred to create the online classes and for that we are extremely grateful. We are working hard and looking into every available option in order to remain connected to you.
We need your help to get through these next few months. If you are someone who has not been financially impacted by this pandemic, and or can afford to donate, please do, so that we may all have a brick and mortar studio to return to when it’s safe to do so.
If you are a student that takes classes and you love the teachers and community that we’ve created, help us do everything in our power to maintain the space that is so special to us. Ask your friends and family to either donate or take online classes from their own homes anywhere in the world. And if you’re stopping by and realizing you just want some yoga, join us.

This is a scary time for so many, and will financially impact countless members of our community, including many of our students as well as the majority our beloved teachers and staff.
With utmost humility and gratitude, we are asking our community members to contribute to our relief fund if they are in a financial position to do so.
100% of these donations will go towards filling in the revenue gaps so we can meet our base operating expenses. If there is anything left after those expenses have been met, we will use that to compensate our teachers whose hours have been cut due to the Covid-19 pandemic but who are contributing to ongoing classes.
