Zimbabwe Drought -Water 4 Wildlife

Donation protected
Zimbabwe is facing one of the worse droughts since the early 90's. Our lands are dry, our people are hungry and our wildlife is dying. By now we would of had a couple of months of good rain filling the dams, watering the crops and nourishing the lands. It is nothing but dry, with the crisp leaves burnt out by the sun as temperatures soar over 40 degrees celcius.

At the Free to be Wild, rescue rehabilitation and release centre based on the outskirts of Bulawayo, we have had the luxury of pumping water from a dam near us, as levels dropped we kept out hope that the sky would open and our much needed rains would arrive. Today there is not a drop left in the dam!!! We have over 70 water dependant animals that are relying on us!

Our next option is to drill a well, that we will need to pump the water up to our resevoir using a solar pump. This does not come cheap. The whole operation including the pump is going to cost $5500.

Unfortunately our finances have dried up too due to the huge influx of orphaned babies arriving due to the lack of water and food available around the country.

We ask from the bottoms of our hearts if there is any way at all that you may be able to help no matter how big or small every penny counts. It would be so appreciated. Water is essential we can not carry on without it.
