Free the Girls Project - Nepal

Donation protected

Here goes… A little something we're doing for the next year. We'd love you to be a part of it. I'm excited to see what the future holds.  I am sharing my part in our 'Free the Girls Project'. We are aiming for $30,000!!

Trigger warning* Recently I observed something that wrecked me. I drove home crying in my car with a heavy heart feeling helpless. I listened to the story of a Nepali man who rescues girls from human trafficking. He, along with some of the girls he had rescued, shared their powerful stories, which were so hard to hear. As I type I can feel my throat tightening and my eyes watering at the thought of what they have endured and what other girls are still enduring. These precious little girls who are just children (12 years old) are imprisoned in brothels and raped by 40-50 men a day, everyday. One said she was not allowed to wear clothes so she could ‘service’ more men a day. If the girls resisted, the owners of the brothel would hold them down and spray pepper spray on their privates. I’m SO sorry you had to read that, but this is real. Just because we live over the sea doesn’t mean we can wipe our hands of doing what we can.

No human has more value than another. We MUST believe that because it is the TRUTH! My life is no more worthy or deserving than these precious little souls who have no voice.

My heart aches. I cannot do nothing, I can not.

In the west we have great power and means. To those in poverty the situation is heart wrenching, like commodities to be bought and sold, like nothing to be used and tossed aside, but these are still their children. My motherly heart aches, so I will help on behalf of a mother I haven’t met.

With help, these girls are on the road to redemption and healing. This Nepali man has now rescued 800 girls. EIGHT HUNDRED. He and the team accommodate them in a safe and loving environment, pay for their education and feed them. Their lives are completely turned around… for generations to come. The whole foundation is doing incredible things.

Freely I have been given so freely I will give. I have a camera in my hands and with that I can do something. For the next 12 months (as of today) we are giving 100% of our profit from The Birth Story Photographer to help rescue these little girls, to rescue them from unspeakable sexual torture and give them a chance at life. Anything less is not enough.

My hubby, kids and I are going to fly over next year to see this for ourselves and to be real love wherever we can. I’ll bring back stories of hope and heaps of photos to share with you all.

My goal is $10,000. As a full time mum this is a substantial amount for me. Who knows what can happen, maybe we’ll smash it. Australian money goes a long way in Nepal, for example it only costs about $70 in their hostel to give a child education, food, love and a safe place to sleep at night for a whole month. Think about that for a minute… a bed of their own, a place to sleep without fear of being touched by men all throughout the night. A safe place to close their eyes.
I need your help. Please share this post. ANY SESSION BOOKED; newborn, birth, maternity, wedding and family portraits are all going to help rescue the girls. Gifts vouchers are perfect for Christmas presents, baby showers, and birthday gifts too!
I’m so excited. There is so much joy in giving. How can you help? Maybe you would like to join us on the fund-raising journey? Maybe you would like to come to Nepal with us next year?

If you would like to know more about the Nepali man, Raju Sundas who runs ‘The Lighthouse Foundation Nepal’. Watch the video above, thats him.

If you dont want to book a photo session but would still like to support this cause..please donate here!! The total is just from donated money, my profits will be added to this at the end! Go you good thing!

With all our gratitude,

Bree and Brock
