Emergency Legal Fees for Single Mom

Peace and Highest Blessings!

It’s been my lifelong dream to become a mother and last year I was blessed with the miraculous life of my daughter Issa Naya.  She is a gift, a healer, and a true teacher.

I am parenting her autonomously and am her only consistent source of resources.  And because of our draconian family court system, I need to pay a lawyer in order for the legal system to protect my right to parent my child freely.  You must read between the lines, I cannot comment openly on the current legal battle with another person.

For six years I have been a resource in my communities in the Bay Area and New York as I have honed my craft as a yoga teacher, nutritionist, and healing arts entrepreneur.  I have created jobs and allowed resources to flow in the lives of those with whom I’ve worked.  My investment in the community took a back seat while moving through my pregnancy and my daughter’s first year of life.  And now I am asking you to turn the flow of energy in my direction to support me as a new mother, to fortify the places that have been depleted, and to sustain me as I re-emerge into my work.

I am asking this righteous community to support my legal fees, my return to my home in Brooklyn (legally residing in San Francisco until court orders change), and the BIRTH of my new wisdom as a mother in the love and dedication I bring to our village.

Budget Vision:
$15,000 for final custody orders ($250/ hr)
$6,000 re-start-up funding for minfulness-based, trauma informed, education and yoga company serving youth/families in Brooklyn and San Francisco.
$4,000 relocation and moving fees, and rent for us to live in a place of our own again.

About Me
I am Rachel Bolden-Kramer, native of San Francisco, and founder of Hip Dhamma (http://www.hipdhamma.com/ )
, the umbrella comapny that houses my visionary work in yoga-mindfulness and radical nutrition for universal wellness.  I began community organizing as a teen in the Bay Area and have stayed consistent with my dedication to liberation for all beings, emphasizing youth, women, people of color, working class people, and lgbtq folks.  I am a first generation graduate of Harvard University, where I studied the House/Ball/Vogue scene, and began to recognize the importance of access to holistic wellness resources for people living in the margins.

I am certified to teach yoga through Niroga Institute and Yoga Alliance, and am currently receiving advanced education through Spirit Rock's Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training.  In response to lived experience with health struggle, I created My Food Stamps Cookbook (http://www.hipdhamma.com/fscookbook/ )
, a guide to living and healing while on a budget, which I've brought to schools and organizations across the country in workshops and publications.  My nutrition approach is based on my certifcation in Food As Medicine via the Center for Mind Body Medicince and the ageless wisdom of practices in Ayurveda, TCM, and digestive healing.

Additionally, I have trained in Aboriginal Focusing Oriented Therapy for Complex Trauma which informs my counseling and coaching in radical health.  As a new mama, I LOVE being present for my child, using ageless attachment parenting practices from my ancestors, and raising a fierce warrior yogini ma. Oh, BTW, just trained as a doula too =)

I'm super excited to re-discover myself as a mama and healing arts entrepreneur.  AND SO IT IS!
