Think Laundry! Think FREE!
Free Laundry Friends uses 100% of funds to surprise and pay for free laundry at local laundromats, serving the most underserved communities being affected by COVID-19. We believe in small treats and kindness. We also believe clean clothes is a basic need, a necessity for work and a source of personal pride.
Why Laundromats?
Public laundromats cater to working class and undocumented families, and the latter are hit especially hard in the current coronavirus environment because they are not eligible for government assistance. During this difficult, stressful and overwhelming time, an unexpected kindness can be a much needed pick-me-up, healthy for the heart and the mind.
In addition to free laundry, we're also working with local businesses hit hard by the pandemic to offer safe and yummy edible treats for families waiting for their laundry.
How you can help!
Help us brighten lives through a simple act of kindness and clean clothes. Imagine a tired family lugging laundry to a laundromat and then finding out that all loads of laundry for the day have been paid for by Free Laundry Friends!
We are currently working with 6 laundromats and will continue to go neighborhood by neighborhood in the Bay Area (with hopes to expand nationally) surprising families with free laundry! Any amount you are able to give is greatly appreciated and we promise to put 100% of your donation to good use.
A $50 donation can fund multiple loads of laundry for two families.
A $250 donation can fund free laundry for an entire day in some neighborhoods.

Who We Are
We are a group of 7 families in the bay area who have been volunteering together for the last 5 years. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we really wanted to do something to help the most underserved in our community. When the idea of surprising needy families with free laundry came up – it just seemed perfect!

Since launching, we have been featured on Kron4 News as well as Mountain View Voice . We are grateful for the community's support and response to our efforts! We will continue to work hard to brighten as many lives as we can.
