Freeing children from child labour

Hi, my name is Dave and in September 2021 I will climb together with The Next Smile Foundation the Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to raise funds to build a school and free children from child labour!

THE NEXT SMILE

The Next Smile was founded in 2020 by one of my dearest friends, Robin van Popering, who travelled to Mafinga, Tanzania to start his first project: The Kindergarten of Joy. Mafinga is one of the poorest regions in Tanzania and with donations, The Next Smile was able to build a school and freed 71 children from child labour. The school consists of two classrooms and one office where four to six teachers teach. This school offers free education and three meals per day to benefit the less fortunate children and families in the area.

In this region the average monthly income is $40 per person and it is common to see children aged 4 to 12 years old work on farms. These children work because of one simple reason: food. A lot of the children are orphans, others have parents in prison or parents without enough money for food. Therefore, these children do not have enough money to pay for government schools and instead they end up working to survive.

THE KILIMANJARO CHALLENGE

To support future planned projects in Africa, The Next Smile organized the Kilimanjaro Challenge, hiking 70 kms (42 miles) in 8 days with a group of 8 enthusiasts raising €1.500 each!

One of the great things about The Next Smile is that is it founded by one of my best friends, meaning that we can ensure that every euro is invested in a child's future. We guarantee that 100% of the money donated is used to build schools and provide school materials and supplies, providing education for children in Africa.
