FREEDOM RIDE

Tax deductible
Be part of bringing FREEDOM RIDE, a dynamic new musical/opera based on riveting events of the 1960's Civil Rights Movement that caused a national surge in the struggle for equality. It will be presented during Black History Month, February 2023. Your contribution will help fund the costs of the production and promotion and will help enormously in any amount. Critics have said that this work should be presented often and ongoing as an example of the struggles for social justice.

Chicago Opera Theater produced the attraction just before the Covid lock-down. It received excellent reviews from Hedy Weiss of WTTW, who said:
" it captured a pivotal moment in American history. .. a work that should be remounted often and shown to students and others in this country and around the world."

Lawrence B. Johnson of Chicago on the Aisle stated:
"The work's uncomplicated directness possesses fetching appeal and directness that echoes through Shore's inspired music front to finish."

"For anyone who has logged a moment or more in one or another struggle for social justice, FREEDOM RIDE is a poignant reminder of what brought you to the dance." - Amy Muncie
