Freedom for Shawn

Donation protected
In 1979 our parents and their first child arrived to the United States as refugees from Cambodia. They escaped the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge and were sponsored by an American family to become permanent residents.
Growing up in Long Beach, CA was tough. Like most teenagers, he was influenced by the wrong crowd and made a mistake. He served his punishment in 1995. Since his release he promised to turn his life around and he kept his word. He has been employed with Waxie for the last 15 years. He contributes his time and donates to charities such as walks for Breast Cancer Awareness and the Pat Tillman Run. He loves nature hikes, video games, family gatherings and is passionate about the love of his life. He has accomplished so much and is a positive example to our community. Moving forward, we have forgiven him for his faults and he is living a humble life.
During a routine check in with Immigration on March 28th, 2018 he was detained and sent to a detention center to be deported back to Cambodia. His family never got to say good bye and we don’t know what to expect. We are seeking legal advice to help defend his case. Donations funded will go towards an Immigration lawyer to get freedom for Shawn. We urge you to share our story and please pray for our family. Thank you all so much for the support and messages, we are overwhelmed with gratitude.
