 Alfredo, my cousin Carla’s husband, has always done everything asked of him to build a life in the United States. On November 7, 2025, he went to his scheduled immigration appointment, just as he had done before. This time, without any warning, he was detained and is still being held. The shock has been overwhelming for Carla and their family, especially since Alfredo’s elderly mother had just arrived for a visit on November 1, only to have her son taken away six days later. 
 
 
 Alfredo has worked hard for years, running a roofing company that not only supports his own family but also several employees and their families. He has paid taxes and followed every step required to obtain his residency status. Despite all his efforts, Alfredo now faces significant legal fees to fight for his release. Carla and her family have managed to gather a portion of the funds, but they cannot cover the full amount on their own. 
 
 
 The money raised will go directly toward Alfredo’s legal fees, including attorney and court costs.
