The #FreeBlackMamasSyracuse collective, made up of representatives from Doula 4 a Queen, Village Birth International , Unchained , and Black Lives Matter Syracuse, are raising funds to bail Black moms out of the Justice Center so they can be with their families, preferably before Mother’s Day. Money bail and pre-trial detention have a devastating impact on our communities and families. Contributions will be used to bail out Black moms and support continuing on-the-ground organizing for participating grassroots organizations. All funds raised will go directly to bailing Black mamas out of jail in Syracuse by the end of May and supporting them after their release. Our collective will post the bail and welcome the mamas back to the community, using any remaining funds to support them in their transition home and their ongoing legal fight.
