I didn't have a fair trial.
My trial counsel never investigated my case, and the appellate court forced me to stay with him on direct appeal against my will and my pleas to remove him.
For the last 19yrs, I've done my own legal research and paperwork. I've skillfully preserved all of my remaining appeals including my federal habeas corpus clock.
I'm currently preparing to amend my first Rule 30 motion for a new trial, which I'm entitled to an evidentiary hearing, and I—for once in my entire 21yrs of doing time—need a competent lawyer who will be willing to fight for me.
The $1,500 that we are raising now will be paid to attorney Dana Goldblatt, who will review my entire case file in order to help solidify my arguments.
She will also draft a memo of her findings, and submit them to the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) on my behalf.
