Now that Thor has been released from jail with zero bond, I wanted to update this to reflect the new mission...
Just because he was released, this does not mean his battle is over, in fact it is just beginning. Our friend Thor is still facing an uphill battle facing an outrageous felony terrorism charge that will not be quick or easy. It will also not be cheap.. so this is the new mission, to help his family through this process and get their life back! No person deserves to have their life ruined because of a mistake that had zero malicious intent.
After launching this GoFundMe, I have learned more about the person, father and family man that Thor Wiljanen is and I wanted to share a few of those things:
Thors employer was quoted as saying: "He’s the father of two. One is a non-verbal special needs 3-year-old. He gets up every morning, for three days a week, two hours early, to take that child to therapy. He has a father who has advanced dementia who is in a nursing home. He is absolutely no flight risk.”
A close friend of mine, who was also Thors fraternity brother at the University of Louisville told me: "Thor is a kind, loving guy that just loves Louisville sports and making people laugh. Never in a million years would he ever want to harm someone."
This GoFundMe is no longer about bail, but a bigger mission.. to restore a man and a families life! A man that made a mistake, but doesn't deserve to have everything taken from him!
