Movement for Mental Health

Tax deductible
The proven benefits of exercise for physical mental health are widespread. That’s why at the Free Space Project we’ll be putting on our Movement for Mental Health project, starting in 2020, and we need YOUR help!

The Free Space Project  is a charity supporting arts & community initiatives within Kentish Town Health Centre, serving over 28,000 patients and those based within Camden. Our Movement for Mental Health project will be provide free opportunities for teens, adults and the elderly to improve their wellbeing through tailor made exercises.

How are we going to do that? A number of us are taking part in an epic spin-a-thon in partnership with Ride & Raise (June 29th) as well as a 10K run through Kew Gardens on September 14th. We need your help to get us through it and your funds to bring this project to fruition!

Movement for Mental Health:

We’re offering 3 x 12 week courses utilising exercise and movement to improve wellbeing:

Release: Aimed at freeing the mind from stress and anxiety through stretch and tone movements.

Ch-Aerobics: A seated based aerobics class targeted to all adults suffering with chronic pain and the elderly.

What your donations will cover!

The Free Space Project has been running for 10 years now and is an exemplar of integrated care, attached to the James Wigg GP practice. Our charity began with exhibitions exploring health but has now grown organically into providing a whole host of other services for patients and those in the local community: arts workshops, a chronic pain group, a weekly dance for Parkinson’s class, exhibitions, artists in residence, a well-beeing garden, Citizens Advice Bureau and much much more. The charity relies on donations like yours to be able to reach some of the most vulnerable people in need.
