Free Rooster From Her Bad Eye

Rooster is a boston terrier-ish dog who was rescued last September from a dog meat farm/puppy mill in South Korea by Humane Society International. She arrived in the US (and in my arms) on my birthday and was by far the best birthday gift I could imagine. She's approximately one and a half, communicates via more snorts than barks, snores like she's sending out a distress signal, and wants nothing more than to be snuggled and held (at least when she's not removing every single toy from the toy bin).
After Rooster arrived in the US and was spayed, her eye issues began. At some point (we can't know exactly when), her eye was punctured. It's possible she did it accidentally after her eye was irritated by the anesthesia used for her spay procedure. That was a rough night: blood and the insides of her eye (for lack of a more scientific term) were leaking down her face, and she was clearly in tremendous pain. She went in for her first surgery that night to repair the puncture, leaving with her eye glued shut in order to allow it to heal. Less than a week after that, her eye began showing all sorts of bad symptoms (discharge, further swelling, and clear pain), so back to the vet we went. They checked the incision and found that the stitches had ripped. Surgery #2: an attempted patch over the puncture made from the whites of her eye. Less than a week later, that surgery had failed too (likely due to her eye being overly weak due to chronic eye infections while she was on the farm). Surgery #3: another patch, leaving her with no white left in that eye. That surgery was healing well the last several months, but at a recent checkup the veterinarian noticed that her eye was bulging (even more than it normally does!) and found her eye pressure was well above normal. We added a pressure medication into the 9 medications she was already requiring daily (many of them up to 8 times a day). No result. Another pressure medication was added, and her eye began to get worse. The pressure was only rising, and parts of her eye that had previously looked relatively healed had begun to bleed and show bright red again. This morning, at our 12th (?) veterinarian appointment for this issue, the vet advised that because the eye is not responding to treatment, Rooster is unable to see out of it, and because of the pain she is in, the best option for Roo is to remove the eye.
This surgery and related medications will cost roughly $1500. This is in addition to the $1000+ I have already spent on veterinarian costs, prescriptions, and rental car/transportation costs to get Rooster to the best vet for her. I have never set up a gofundme before, and I want to recognize that I'm already in a tremendously privileged position to be able to have provided as much care to Roo as she's needed without any serious impacts on my life thus far. For that reason, I'm hesitant to post this fundraiser. But this is for Rooster, and Rooster deserves the best (and in this case, by "best," I mean to live pain free and see the veterinarian less than she has for the entirety of her time in the US so far).
