Free Eileen Wicks from forced detention

Police and social workers entered Eileen and Trevor Wicks’ home on Jan 12, 2022 and brutally apprehended the couple. Eileen, a 74-year-old retired Qualicum child and youth care worker, has since been kept in a small room in a British Columbia hospital for four months without due process or evidence from authorities to justify these draconian actions. Eileen and her husband Trevor (photo above taken Mar 6, 2022 in Nanaimo Hospital), have had to hire lawyers to try to free Eileen from involuntary confinement. The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is now going to court to try to force Eileen into a long-term care facility, against her will and without her consent, even though Eileen does not require 24/7 institutional ‘care’.

 

Eileen urgently needs to get back to the comfort and security of her home and the loving care of her husband Trevor. The couple met as teenagers 60 years ago in England, and have rarely been apart, especially in the last few years as Eileen began to experience short-term memory loss.
