Free Assif Assefi

Dear Family Friends and Supporters,

Assif Assefi, my cousin and well respected artist, beloved father/grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who has lived in America for the last 39 years has been detained by ICE for pending immigration issues.  He is in immediate danger of being deported to Afghanistan where he has NO family or friends.  Assif's entire family, including his daughters and grandchildren, live here in the US.  Assif's parents brought him to the United States LEGALLY during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan when he was 16 years old.  Like so many, his family came here because of the values we all hold so dear:  freedom, independence, safety and opportunity.  Please help him continue his and his parents' dream to live and prosper here in the United States.  Please help support this talented prolific artist and friend by donating any amount or sharing his story so he can fight this very difficult fight to remain here with his family and friends.  These generous donations will be used to help fund Assif's legal and immigration expenses.
