just a few weeks ago, Anabel was thriving at UCLA—deep in her summer research in psychology and preparing for a future dedicated to healing others.

Now, she’s alone in an ICE detention center—frightened, isolated, and over 400 miles from home.

I’m Joshua, Anabel’s husband, and I never imagined I’d be here, asking strangers for help to bring my wife home.

We’ve done everything right. Followed every law. Trusted the process. But now the process has failed us—and Anabel is paying the price.

She’s only 22. A Nigerian student studying Psychology. Bright. Compassionate. Full of promise. She’s here on a valid visa. She works part-time. Volunteers with youth. She’s never broken a law.

But last week, outside an immigration hearing she attended to support a friend, ICE detained her—no warrant, no charges, just a case of mistaken identity.

She’s now being held at Eloy Detention Center in Arizona—far from home, far from help, and even farther from justice. We haven’t been allowed to speak. Her voice is being silenced. And it’s breaking my heart.

I’ve done everything I can. And now, in the darkest moment of our lives, I’m turning to you.

Every donation will go directly toward posting bond and helping Anabel rebuild after her release—covering travel to bring her home, safe housing, and basic needs. Her legal counsel is already secured.
