Free 6 Week Youth Athlete Mentoring/Training Camp

Lives Under Construction is a 501 - c (3) tax-exempt non-profit organization founded in 2007. LUC uses Sports and Fitness as a platform for youth development. We instill discipline, community service and personal excellence to at-risk youth. LUC also promotes citizenship, education and diversity through sportsmanship and fitness. We are presently preparing to run our free Six-Week Afternoon Camp for Kids ranging in age from 8 to 19 years old on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1.5 hours each training, currently in St Petersburg Florida. Each child enrolled in the program must meet this criteria for participation: Must have and must maintain a B average in school. If GPA is lower than the average the athlete may still be allowed to attend but under very strict supervision. The athlete will not be allowed to attend the following year if grades have not improved. Each athlete must complete the mandatory 4 hours of community service. Parent / Guardians with athletes age 17 and under that are participating in the program must complete a minimum of 4 hours of community service. One parent / guardian per home. The transformations made over this six week training camp are truly amazing!
We provide each athlete enrolled in the program with fresh fruit, water and sports drinks at every training, meeting and all of the community service events. We also provide them with a tee shirt upon completion of the program. At the end of the grueling 6 week camp we celebrate by all agreeing on a community pot-luck cookout or a pizza party at our favorite spot. Depending on our donations we try to reward all remaining survivors with a trip to Adventure Island, a local water park in Tampa FL at the end of the camp for all of their hard work and dedication. Each camp costs approximately $3,500 to run. This covers drinks, snacks, t-shirts etc. We would love to be able to keep this Athletic Enhancement & Mentoring Program running for as long as The Lord allows. Any and all donations are welcome.
