Fred Crawley Sr. Cancer Battle
On June 26, 2017, our father Fred Crawley Sr., informed our mother that he had not been able to hold food down for some time. Becasue of this, they made an appointment with their primary care physician to look for answers. After the completion of blood work, barium scans, x-rays, and biopsies, the diagnosis of esophageal and stomach cancer was confirmed. This is where our family's battle with cancer begins.
Moving forward, the task at hand is coming up with funds to help pay for our father's care. A man from humble beginnings, Fred Sr. was a blue collar worker who made his livelihood with his hands. The field of heavy equipment operations did not come with health insurance after retirement. Our parents were patiently awaiting for November 2017, which is the month that our father will turn 65years old and will be eligible for Medicare. Instead, they were rocked to their core on August 8, 2017 by this diagnosis of cancer. With health insurance being too expensive under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), our parents have had to spend their retirement savings to pay for the care that our father has received so far.
Graciously, we are asking for donations toward the health care and treatment of our father. Future costs include further imaging, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Medicare approval in November will not gurantee coverage of all of Fred Sr.'s care to come, and we cannot put our father's care on hold until that time. Our goal is to help lighten the burdern that this cancer diagnosis has put on our parents. We need the support and help of our family, friends and surrounding communities to accomplish this. All donations are greatly appreciated. Please share.
Sincerely,
The Crawley/Brown Family
