Fred Cicconetti’s Cancer Treatment Fund

Donation protected

Fred first found out about his cancer after a preventive colonoscopy in May 2020. In June, days after turning 30 years old, he underwent surgery to remove the mass and most of his colon. After 5 days in the hospital and weeks of recovery, Fred received more bad news-a biopsy performed on the lymph nodes removed with his colon also reported positive for cancer. He was officially diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer in August. He started chemotherapy days after, and the treatment has proven really tough on Fred’s body. He has struggled with severe side effects, including neuropathy, hand/foot syndrome, and mucositis. Each day can bring new symptoms, new pain, and new anxieties. ER visits have become too regular. The oncologist believes Fred might be experiencing intense side effects because he is lacking a specific enzyme required to metabolize the chemo. Ahead of him is testing to determine the source of his issues, continuing chemotherapy, continuing pain, numbness, and anxiety.
Financial woes are the least of his problems right now, but as the bills are piling up and treatment will be ongoing for several more months, the burden is increasing. His income has decreased as he is unable to work for days during and after a treatment. He has enough stress to handle without needing to think about managing the expenses. Anything is helpful-$1 is that much less stress that Fred needs to carry.
