ADHD Diagnosis and treatment

My current GP originally referred me approximately 2 years ago for NHS ADHD testing and treatment but Covid-19 got in the way and I have only just been told by Gwansanaeth ADHD Service that I am now on the NHS waiting list.  However, that waiting list is currently 6 years!

I AM embarrassed to have to put this up, but am SO desperate to get better which involves being OFFICIALLY diagnosed and then gaining access to the correct medication that I thought I'd try a CrowdFunding site!

 

I am now a pensioner, and now registered disabled (67 years of age)...  a state pension doesn't cover private medical costs. I was diagnosed with High Functioning Autisum back in 2017 and was told at that time that I almost certainly also had ADHD but they had not been instructed to do the ADHD diagnosis at that time.

 

I have unknowingly lived with autism (ASD) all my life and just getting diagnosed with was life changing.  It explained so much!

ASD is a biological 'thing' caused by differences in the brain.  You're born with it and you have for life... there is no cure as such.  

ADHD tends to compound many of the effects of ASD but their ARE medications to help with ADHD!

So, I now urgently need official confirmation of this ADHD to access the necessary medication, which would be further life changing for me, but given the waiting list, the only realistic possibility is CrowdFunding so I can go private. 

The private cost is approximately £1,500.  Once I have been officially diagnosed I should be able to access medication via the NHS
