As we come up on the 1 year mark, since dads health took a shocking turn for the worst, with a stroke I reflect on the year.
2 months post stroke and just as he had begun a road to recovery, dad was knocked down again, this time with a diagnosis of Colon Cancer.
He has since been fighting the 2 deadliest of ailments.......like a true superhero!
We are in awe of his strength.....really!!
Dad will need to have chemotherapy treatments in one form or another, for the rest of his life, or until he decides otherwise. He also continues his battle with residual effects from his stroke, on a daily basis.
When this all first happened, knowing the type of financial strain the future held for them, I asked them if they wanted me to set up a fundraiser to help out with their medical expenses;
-hospital
-physical therapy
-medical equipment,
-many,many office visits
-medication
-etc....
Frank and Mary Ann are very private people and declined my 1st attempt at starting a fundraiser or any help from anyone thus far, but as anyone could read on their parents face, is the heartbreaking, signs of uncertainty.
I know times are tough for everyone right now, and we sincerely appreciate any help for our DAD, your UNCLE FRANK, BROTHER & FRIEND.
