Frank's medical expenses & journey

Our Story,  we were living our lives just like most families.  School, work, soccer, friends and many more. Until Frank got a head and chest cold in February and went through two rounds of antibiotics before he got better. He had a swollen lymph node that wouldn't go down. So back to the doctor he went at the end of March. He went for his first ultrasound on April 3rd. The results wern't very clear so they sent him to a general surgeon which he waited to see until May 18th. That doctor ordered more tests so Frank had a biopsy and CT scan on May 31st. We found out on June 3rd on a Saturday that his results came back positive for cancer. Then we waited the rest of the weekend to go see the doctor on Monday to find out the diagnosis. That day the doctor told us that Frank probably had a rare form of Medullary Thyroid Cancer. It had already spread to the lymph nodes along the left side of the neck. So we were referred to Dr Griffin a specialist. We only had to wait a week to get in to see him. Then we had to do many more tests. Blood work, more CT scans, a pet scan and all in two weeks because he went in for surgery on June 23rd. They ended up doing a full neck dissection. Took out all lymph nodes on left and right side of neck and the central compartment. He ended up having around 39 tumors removed along with the thyroid. He was in surgery 6 hours. They had to remove part of the vocal cord nerve on the right side. His voice has changed some but it doesn't stop him one bit. He is also going to have to do radiation at this point. We are still doing many tests and are going to Denver July 31st to meet with the Endocrinologist. We have also found out that his cancer is genetic so we will be going back to Denver in September to meet with the geneticist. We also have gotten our 3 children tested and found out 2 out of 3 of our kids have the gene. Bella had her thyroid out and is doing well. Alexander will also have to get his out but at a later date. I just wanted to say thank you in advance for any donation that you are able to give.  God is good!
