UPDATE:
Both dogs are now at home, recovering from surgery.
We would like to thank everyone for their support. ❤️
Human kindness will always win over evil.
Hi everyone
On July 29, our 2 dachshunds were playing outside in what is supposed to be a private backyard of our building in Berlin.
A couple of hours later, one of our neighbors informed us that she had found a piece of vicious bait: sausage with razor blades inside.
We didn’t see our dogs eating anything but we knew this could have happened in a second of not looking at them so we took them to the hospital for X-rays “just in case”.
It turns out they both had razor blades inside their stomach and had to be operated on immediately.
They had the surgery in the night and are now, July 30, still in hospital recovering. Penny is well, Frank has a quite high temperature.
Apart from the situation being extremely heartbreaking and stressful on us, it also came with an outrageous cost: approximately €9.000, money we currently don’t have.
We were able to pay €2000 on the spot with the help of our friends.
We never thought we would ever be in this situation, but I will never be embarrassed to ask for help to save my babies.
Unfortunately the clinic refused payment via installments.
Every little cent helps us. As we have used rent money and every loan we can take to be able to pay when we pick them up.
We are forever grateful and we will provide the invoices as soon as we get back to the clinic.
Thank you for helping our furry babies, Frank and Penny.
