A Car for Frankie

I am excited to introduce you to one of my dearest friends, Frankie.
I met Frankie two years ago outside of Austin Street homeless shelter. She approached me with her huge smile and spit-fire attitude, confidently introduced herself, and immediately started calling me “little sister”. I was instantly drawn to her exuberance and the way she spoke of God’s providence in her life, despite her circumstances.
As our friendship has developed over the past 2 years, I’ve learned more of her story and grown a deep respect for her persistent determination to work multiple jobs to get off the street and pay for her new apartment, while also battling health complications that accompany her polycystic kidney disease. Surprisingly, however, the biggest obstacle she has faced in maintaining a job, is a lack of transportation.
Since 2014, when she was the victim of a hit and run accident that totaled her car, she has spent atleast 5 hours/day on buses, bikes, trains (and yes, even LimeScooters) in order to get to work. The frequent delays and the inconsistencies of public transportation have caused her to miss days of work and several doctors appointments, which she cannot afford.
My words are inadequate to portray the joyful, generous person that Frankie is or express the impact her friendship has had on my life. But I share this with you in hopes that you’ll partner with me to help Frankie purchase a car.
We are both confident that God has already answered this prayer and will provide above and beyond what we could imagine.
