Frank Dogg's Medical Fund

My best friend/son has not had it easy over the past month. Because Frank's skin is basically tissue paper he began the month with a laceration on his foot that required stitches. He had his stitches removed a week ago and was healing wonderfully. 

A few days later he became very lethargic & completely lost his appetite. We took him to see the vet and run tests. From what they could see he is most likely sick with a kidney infection. They sent us home with an IV and several meds. The dr. said in the next 1-2 days we should see a signifigant improvement and his appetite should be restored. After 4 days have gone by Frank has not improved. He is currently being hospitalized and is under the care of an internal medicine specialist. We feel very comfortable that he is in excellent hands.

In order to provide him with the care he needs I am doing everything I can to find the money to pay for this. As a responsible Shar Pei owner I have always had insurance for Frank. I recently decided to switch insurance companies as I did not feel like we could rely on his provider. They were constantly rejecting legitimate claims I submitted and then doubled his monthly rate. I immediately signed up with a new company. There is a 15 day waiting period upon signing up for coverage. What this means is any accident or illness that occurs during these 15 days is not only not covered but will be considered a pre exisiting condition. Frank is 5 1/2 years old and has never suffered from an internal illness. He is very well taken care of and is showered with love & kisses every single day. 

I have never been one to ask for help financially until now. I am stuck and in over my head with vet bills. The Dr. who is currently treating Frank would like to keep him in the hospital for the next few days to monitor and treat his condition. At the moment I simply do not have the money to do this.

We just want to see Frank get back to his happy and healthy self as quick as possible. I will continue to post updates on his condition.
