Frank W. Ballou Scholarship Fund

Tax deductible

Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”  With this in mind, the Alumni of Frank W. Ballou Senior High School of Washington, D.C., in partnership with Ariel Foundation International (Tax ID # 02-0674899), has established a university scholarship fundraising campaign for Ballou graduates.

The goal for 2018-2019, is to raise $100,000 to fund four to ten scholarships to pay tuition and associated expenses for eligible Ballou High School graduates to attend a four-year college or university.   The ultimate goal of this campaign is to create a “Forever Fund” that will continually raise funds for future graduates to attend university.

The Alumni Committee will work closely with Ballou High School’s Administrative staff to identify qualified candidates for the scholarship.  In addition to having a 2.5-to-4.0 GPA, students will be required to write an essay on their goals and aspirations for life, as well as why they should be selected to receive the scholarship.  Ariel Foundation International will disburse funds received through this campaign directly to the university of the selected student.

The young men and women of Frank W. Ballou Senior High School represent the future leaders of our nation, and your contribution to this campaign will ensure they have an opportunity to fulfill their destiny and change the world.  As Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”  Please contribute to this worthy campaign and help change the world.
