Hello Community, Family and Friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we are here due to the loss of a local Guerneville community member, Francisco Marcelo Olivera Arellanes, known to all of us simply as Marcelo. Marcelo was a victim of homicide the night of Wednesday, March 23rd 2022, when a young male crashed into the property and proceeded inside where he inflicted several physical life threatening wounds. Marcelo passed away while being transported to the hospital.

Marcelo worked in the Guerneville community with his brother Rey, acting as his right hand man who you could count on. He often played soccer with local men at the Guerneville Elementary school. Marcelo was well known for his willingness to help, no matter the place or time. He was very caring with a big heart and an even bigger smile. He wanted to be like his big brother and they share a unique relationship like no other. They had big plans for their future, for their families and for the community surrounding them.

With little family in his immediate area,  his brother Rey (wife Teresa) and Uncle Juan, they wish to have his body transported to Mexico where his two children and mother whom he provided for live, and to hold all ceremonies . As we know, funeral services and transportation can become rather costly, but we ask that you please help Teresa and Rey send Marcelo back to his mourning family in Mexico. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Everyone at the River to Coast Children's Services thanks you all for your love and support. We are saddened by this loss, and grateful for the impact and help he provided to us with our various community events. Without Marcelo and Rey’s support, the dynamic brother duo, we would have not been able to hold a safe and fun Halloween parade. The smiles and laughter that RCCS shared with Marcelo will be cherished and remembered.

We invite you to share your stories and special moments you have of Marcelo. He will continue to live on through our memories.

Hola Comunidad, Familia y Amigos.
