Elevating himself from being a typical, annoying little brother to becoming the most incredible person many of us have ever met, Frankie is, simply put,  a beautiful soul. Those of us who have regular contact with him know the feeling, it is both:  who he is and what he does. This indominable glow of his, joyous and kind nature, which he freely shares, defies  diminishment. My brother wakes up every day ready to help others and meet the challenges of this world in any way that he is able. He wakes up each day not with bravado or fear, but only with a desire to build things or be of service to others. He sees the brightness in people when most of us look for the darkness. Frankie didn't just become like this now that he is facing cancer: he has been like that for most of the twenty-four years he's been on this earth. We need beacons of light like my brother to shine on us, to continue to touch the lives of others by just being, and to help tip the scales to goodness in this world of so much darkness. Now, we need to come together for my brother, and help him to be ridden of the cruel cancer  growing inside of him (malignant sarcoma [desmoplastic small round cell tumor])*. This is our chance to give back to him some of the light he has so freely been sharing with us; to be that light for him, and to stop this cancer from dimming his.
