Get Frances Back on Four Feet!

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Frances the dog. If you live in Madison, you've probably seen me running along side my dad and his bike or skateboard, jogging with my mom, playing fetch with one of my many friends and my Uncle Matt, ice skating on Lake Mendota in the winter, or "fishing" (for sticks, mostly) in Tenney Park. These are the things that make up my life: running, playing, "squirrel hunting," chasing a ball, stick, you name it, and then cuddling as long as you'd like.

If you don't know me, I should tell you that a couple of years ago, things weren't looking great for me. My last owners ditched me on the side of the road one winter night in Wisconsin, leaving me in the cold with nowhere to go. I landed on the doorstep of a wonderful man and woman named Bill and Bobbie, who took me into their home and gave me food and a warm place to sleep while they and my Uncle Matt searched for the perfect home for me. It took a few weeks, but I ended up with my parents, Cory and Sara, a little while later--and what a life I've been living since then! For almost two years, I've been the luckiest dog around, playing hard, loving hard, and having so much fun doing it.

Until recently. As you may know, whatever I do, I go for it, and while playing fetch with some of my friends a few weeks ago, I tore both ACL's in my back legs. Now I'm looking at a very costly reconstructive surgery, or a life of sitting in the back seat, unable to enjoy the things I really love to do. I'm only two and a half, so the idea of being unable to run, play, and jump around for the rest of my life is no fun at all--the "lapdog lifestyle" is not for me!

My parents are asking for your help, as the procedure is a very costly one--and I need it for both of my back legs. Any donation--no matter how small--will help me get back on four feet and keep me going (and going) for many more years. Your help means that I can continue romping around with my friends, cousins, aunts and uncles, and my parents, which is exactly the thing I love to do most. Plus, you're sure to get a kiss and a cuddle from me if I ever see you around town!

Even more, my dad, photographer Cory Peterson, has a very special incentive for some of you. Think of it as an "online art show." For those who can spare a little more, he will send you a print of any of the images you see below. For a $35 donation, you can get a 5x7 print; for $50, a 7x10.5 print; or, for $100, you'll get an 11x16 inch print. All of this are his original work, and the best way he knows to show his appreciation for you help.

Thank you all for everything you've already done for me. My outlook was looking grim that winter day a couple of years ago, and in the short time since, so many of you have added endless joy, fun, and love to my life. I only hope that I have given some of that goodness back to you! Thank you so much for your donations.

Love,
Frances the Dog, Cory, and Sara
