This fundraiser will help pay funeral costs for Frances Eleanor (Horn) Marsiglia.  She passed away on September 17, 2020.

Frances Eleanor Horn Marsiglia was born December 26, 1929 in Voth, Texas. She grew up in Voth with her five siblings: older brother Vernon “Doc” and sisters Ruth, Anena, LeeOra, and Yvonne. For the majority of her life she was known as Eleanor but in her later years she would introduce herself as Frances.

Eleanor lived a life of amazing achievement.  At the age of 12 she ran giant pump steam engine boilers with her father at the LNVA water pumping station.  She was a certified red cross life guard, homecoming queen, and two time Miss Beaumont. She was the epitome of artistic talent, producing many works of which some were sold at the White House department store.

Eleanor grew her talents further, adding business ownership of Beaumont's iconic Nick's Shoe Service.  Her business became known for fine leather repair and precise color matched dying of shoes, coats, and luggage.

In retirement Eleanor continued her journey as a prolific artist, regularly conducting demonstrations and selling her works at Woodville's Heritage Village and Beaumont's Spindletop Museum.

In addition to raising her own five children, Eleanor also opened her home to others and raised them as though they were her own.  Even though Eleanor didn't have much at times, she always extended a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Some people measure success by how much money they make.  She measured success by the number of people that loved her.

At this time we would like to ask for any help you can give to help the family pay for the cost of the funeral home and burial expenses.  Eleanor helped many people during her travels on this earth.  We now hope that some will come forward to help her on her final journey.

Any excess funds will be donated to the Frances Marsiglia Memorial at Heritage Village.
