Fractured elbow funding

Hello friends, a friend created this post for me when I was still full of morphine, shock, anxiety, adrenaline, and narcotic painkillers. I am not sure why she thought it clever it make me look so incognito, but yes, it's me, E.

Also, per her directive while I was anything but grounded,  it has been shared in some peculiar places on the web, so I don't feel comfortable updating it with better personal info. Here are the details of the ludicrous incident that recently crippled my left arm, and will keep me from working for at least 3 months. My family of origin is barely aware that I am a human being; in times like these, I rely on the love of friends, and help from humanity.

On Monday Sept. 17th I am going into what I hope will be a very restorative  surgery, with a very qualified surgeon......pray for me please.

I am probably going to create a more legit looking campaign once I have recovered enough from surgery to do so; then I will put on my facebook page should you have a moment to share it.

On the evening of September 5th I was walking on my favorite jaunt in Chicago, called the 606; it is also known as the Bloomingdale trail, which used to be an elevated train track.  The city deems it a park,  but it is more like a walking and jogging path that lasts about 3 miles. Some cyclists think it clever to use this "park"  as part of their high speed inner city commute, even though there are often little children present on foot or on kid bikes, dogs, families etc to be careful of. To be safe I always walk on the outer edge and until Sept. 5th have never been afraid of dudes on bicycles. As the sun began to set it also suddenly started to pour rain. I looked ahead of me to look to see if the path was clear to cross so I could walk back to my car. All I saw was an empty pathway and swollen raindrops, so I crossed over to the other side and began walking east.

Just a few seconds after what I thought was a safe crossing, I heard a man yell "watch out". Thanks a lot, guy. At least I had a chance to look over my right shoulder and avoided a full frontal with a broken nose. Before I knew it, I was being body slammed by a man on a bike to the pavement where he literally road his bike over me, dragged me a bit further to the east, and then crashed himself. The biker seemed to be  going at top speed through the rain storm and for some bizarre reason unable to swerve, so instead I was the stopping point.  WTF.

So there I was, horizontal on hard pavement, with my left arm bent at a questionable angle. People gathered around me in an attempt to assist but all I could do was sob in shock as the rain poured down on my smashed body.

Mr. Tour de France  waited long enough to see that  other people were calling the paramedics, and then quickly departed the scene before they arrived. One of the paramedics was rather irate.  After they loaded me onto a stretcher,  he exclaimed that they have to go up on the Bloomingdale Trail about 3 times a week to get people who have been injured. My gasping response was "really??"  He growled "they should tear it up and shut it down!".

I sustained a concussion & a split lip, the skin was scraped off of my right elbow and both knees,  and my now displaced left elbow is so severely fractured that the operation to install metal plates and screws will take 4-5 hours. I am covered from head to toe in bruises.

I do not have health insurance and need immediate surgery to regain mobility in my elbow.  I make my living as a reiki practitioner, nutritional consultant,  & Young Living Essential oils distributor. Having healthy hands and arms, and a brain not flooded with narcotic painkillers, is essential to being good at what I do. Basic daily activities like bathing, dressing, eating, and keeping my apartment clean have become  hard to manage.

I already have very costly health challenges to manage, and simply do not know how I am going to get through several months of living on credit and massive hospital bills without also having to consider subleasing my apartment, selling my car, and even filing for bankruptcy.

All money raised will go towards medical bills as well as ensuring I do not become destitute. I am hoping to at least raise funds for the surgery which will cost a minimum of $6,000.
