Gerald's Start to a Bright Future

Update:

While we reached the goal for the tools we are still not where we need to be. Just to put it in perspective for you Dallas’s monthly medical bills are over $1,300 and the only source of income is SSI. Many of you may not know this but they lost everything after Dallas lost her job of 20 years, they came to live with me in my house. They had a small 10 x 10 room and a room in the garage for Chase. Instead of being bitter they were thankful they had a place to live. Now they need our help to try to get a footing on the mountain of bills that are piled up. It is the season to be thankful. I know I take my health for granted far too often and I need to be thankful for it. Please give what you can and share this page to give two of the hardest working, giving, loyal, and honest people I know a chance.

Throughout life we have many friends, some come for a season and others stay a lifetime. Dallas came into my life when I was 16 and we became great friends quickly. However life events separated us a few years later, but fate brought us back together several years ago. She has had more challenges in her life than anyone I have ever known. She faces each day with such optimism that it is truly awe inspiring. The amount of pain she endures daily is beyond comprehension yet she pushes through day after day with a smile on her face. Her medical issues cause more financial stress than almost anyone could handle. Through it all she has had a knight in shining armor her wonderful giving husband Gerald. The bond they share is so strong and special. They are truly a perfect match. After over 20 years of dedicated work to her employer Dallas’s medical issues have caught up with her and she is on Social Security Disability and Gerald has been supporting her through it all. Trying to provide more for his family Gerald has gone back to school where he is excelling. He is going to school for air conditioning and is seeking employment in that field. His goal is to obtain a position where he can provide insurance for himself and a source of revenue for the family. Gerald has recently learned that he now has pre-cancerous cells in the lining of his esophagus down through his stomach due to Barretts disease. After several doctor’s visits he has been advised that he will require an ablation surgery to remove these cells. Due to his lack of insurance surgeons are unable to perform the surgery. His new career path is challenging in that in order to obtain a position you must own your own tools. Therefore I am setting up this fund to provide the needed capital to obtain tools and also a few months’ worth of insurance through Obamacare (that is currently economically out of their reach) to give him the chance that this amazing couple truly have earned. They are the most giving, compassionate, and positive couple you could meet. Please help them get the chance to put Gerald’s strong work ethic and dedication to his family to use. No gift is too small in helping to give to this fund and we would appreciate it. Also, as they and I are strong believers in the power of prayer I ask that you will keep them, their medical issues, and the success of this fund in your prayers.
