Fr. Lawrence Farley has been the pastor of St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Langley, B.C., Canada since the parish began under the OCA in 1987. The church has weathered many challenges and continued to grow, and many men who are now clergy began as catechumens at St. Herman’s. Fr. Lawrence’s ministry of writing (currently totalling 25 books and well over 400 blog posts) was made possible because of the parish’s support. (A list of the books can be found at: https://store.ancientfaith.com/search.php?Search=&search_query=farley§ion=product.)
St. Herman’s is erecting a new building to help them continue to grow and reach out with the Gospel and to create something beautiful for God. The building project encountered obstacles and costly delays due to the onset of the Covid pandemic. These and other unforeseen cost overruns have been considerable. The clergy, the Parish Council, and the parishioners have been generous in donating to meet this need, but more is still needed--they need to raise an additional $250,000.
Can you help as well by making a one-time sacrificial gift to the parish? Ongoing reports about the building progress can be found at our parish website at: http://www.saintherman.net.
If preferred, one can also send donation by cheque, payable to St. Herman's Church, and mailed to 7221 - 198B Street, Langley, BC, V2Y 1R9. Thank you and God bless you!
