<div>Usually, I am writing to you about some sort of situation with the doggies and cats on the island of Aruba or at the Haven, Luna Foundation, and needing your help. Today, I ask your help but for a different reason. This time I ask for your help for a special human who I am honored to call my friend. You may know her—her name is Aletta du Pon.

<div>For several years, I have been friends with Aletta, an incredible human who has given her all to aid the Aruban street dog and cats as well as her home country of the Netherlands. I have personally worked with her and she has helped many other foundations to rescue, feed, foster, provide medical treatment and permanent homes for the street animals. She is the real deal—boots on the ground kind of person who never gives up in her efforts to save the animals—even before we had so many rescue foundations—Aletta was out there with many of us.

<div>Sadly, this unique human was diagnosed early 20' with Essential Tremor but then about ten years ago when she noticed her head shaking and twisting, the medical team rediagnosed her with inhereted Dystonia – a progressive neurological condition.
</div>

<div>Last year the condition progressed and caused generalised whole body Dystonia, deteriating her health and her mobility, slowed her down and she has been relegated to sitting in her apartment looking out the window while life is passing her by.
</div>

<div>The condition has not affected her mind and her spirit—this Harley Davidson riding, animal loving, adventurous human is still fighting every day for the vulnerable souls amongst us. But Dystonia has changed her body—most specifically her mobility. She just recently got an electric wheelchair What she needs most now is a car that will fit the electric wheelchair so that she can stop spending her days inside her apartment and go outside and regain her freedom.

<div>So, this time I am asking for your generosity to help Aletta, a person who has always been self-sufficient and hard working (while saving countless dogs and cats over the years). We have researched the cost of purchasing a reliable used car that will be able to be retrofitted to accommodate the wheelchair, which is somewhere around $20,000 USD. She cannot afford this on her own and any donation amount is greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference in Aletta's life.
