It Takes a Village..

So, I'm pregnant. Surprise! Some of you knew, but not everyone. Either way, I'm at 19 weeks right now.  I've had hardly any prenatal care whatsoever, because no one will see me. I went to the Pregnancy Resource Center to confirm pregnancy and get the first ultrasound. From there, they recommended I see my primary care physician. I don't have a primary care physician, so they recommended OBGYNs. I called a few offices, but without insurance or medicaid, no one would see me. Even pending, they said to wait until I found out I was approved for medicaid or had gotten coverage.  I was denied. I reapplied, I contacted them, I've done everything.

In the meantime, I went to the OB-ER with bleeding, afraid of a miscarriage. They saw me, everything was okay, and when I explained the insurance/medicaid situation, the doctor recommended the hospital's branch of OB so I could have some medical care until I got everything under control with insurance.
I set up the appointment. I went to the appointment. I waited for the doctor and when she came in and asked about my insurance situation, she said she was going to void the appointment and to come back when I had coverage.

Due to health insurance open enrollment, I couldn't get health insurance coverage to begin until January 1, 2021. So I selected the plan I could afford and paid my premium, found a doctor in my plan, and set up the appointment. Upon calling to confirm the appointment, they notified me I have to have my deductible ($2700) paid in full by my 20 weeks date, halfway through the pregnancy. My twenty weeks is 1/15/2021.

I have 4 days left to come up with this money, or I wont recieve any further care. They've done an appointment to establish me as a new patient, and my next appointment is scheduled for the 20th. That appointment will be cancelled if I cannot pay this amount by the 15th.

Trey and I went to the bank and have applied for every loan possible.. We have been denied. We've been selling things. I have called numerous offices. I have called UAB's clinic. I have called the hospital. I have called all the offices I've been recommended.

I just need help to make sure my baby is okay.

**I originally created this several days ago, but haven't published or shared it in hopes we could figure it out on our own and wouldn't have to ask for help. But every avenue we have tried, we have been denied and turned away. Now here we are, with 4 days left, desperate for help.

***1/11/2021: At this point, I have taken advice from several people and contacted several recommended resources. Thrive is unable to help me, DHR is unable to help me, the Decatur hospital is unable to help me (well, they can, but the cost will be similar and due to how far along I already am, due up front), several other offices have confirmed that the situation would be the same with them if I switched to their office. I've asked every place for recommendations and followed up with those recommendations if given, though most everyone just says "good luck.."
